My Surgery by Marielyn

This is my story about my BIG surgery on my ankle. First, I sprang my ankle and went to the doctor. They took an X-ray and saw a cyst. They sent me to Kansas Cancer Center to see what was wrong with my ankle. They said that I would not have to have surgery. I was so happy that I did not have to get surgery. They did an X-ray in Kansas they that it was fine, and I could go home. Then, they called my mom and said that I did have to get surgery. If i didn’t, my ankle would snap. I had to get something to support the weight of my body. Fast forward to December 28, the day of my surgery. My grandma, my mom, and I were on our way to Kansas City Cancer Center hospital. Two hours late,r we were there. I was nervous, and it was terrifying. They called my name, and I went back in to a room. When a nurse came in, she told me that I would have to get in IV in my arm. She tried and accidentally burst a vein in my arm. It didn’t hurt as much that I thought it would. Then, she  tried my other arm and it didn’t go in. She had to get another doctor. He got it perfectly, but the nurse stuck the needle four times in my arms. Then, I fell asleep. Two hours later, I was in the recovery room. I was really hungry, so the recovery nurse got me some food. About an hour later, I started to go home. When I got home, it was a struggle to get me in my house. My mom got me in the house, put me on my bed, and then I went to go to sleep.
